I THINK YOU’LD BE ASKING FOR PROBLEMS IF THEY WERE PUT IN THE SAME CAGE. BOTH PARROTS ARE TEMPERMENTAL TO SAY THE LEAST. THE AFRICAN GREY DOES NOT ACCEPT CHANGES WELL IN GENERAL AND EVEN INTRODUCING ANOTHER GREY MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS. THEY CAN BE FRIENDS FROM A DISTANCE, JUST GIVE THEM THEIR OWN SPACE.
Yes, they can. If both are housed in separate cages. If you only take one out at a time to give quality time too.
I Hope you aint asking if they could be caged together as this would be a deffinate NO! You will end up with them both fighting, expecially if both are male!
As for Having two in seperate cages and out together, I Have personally found with my two that they HATE eachother, the grey kept attacking the ekky, I Think it is because of her red plumage that causes this as greys tend to hate the colour red, He once bit her beak and broke a hole in it!
You can have any bird out together, but you never know what will happen they might love or hate eachother they are like us!, i know someone who has got a macaw and a budgie, the macaw is very protective of the budgie they’ve been together years.
If you do have both out to play together its always best to never leave the room and make sure “play times” are supervised!
I dont know about an eclectus and an african grey but I know my eclectus hated my sisters cockatiel. They would always sqawk and try to bite eachother.
I HOPE you’re not thinking about putting them in the same cage…I don’t know how much you know about parrots but please tell me I have misread your question…
Also, so many factors must be considered about each bird:
temperament, age, personal characteristics, species traits, sex, territoriality, which bird “was there first”…and a whole lotta other stuff… honestly, I have nooooo idea how to answer because your question in so very very vague.
They are going to need their own separate cages. They may, over time, learn to get along in a neutral area like a playgym, but you should always supervise them when together.
Please do not ever put them in same cage. You shouldnt even leave them out of cages at same time w/o supervision. They are like anyother pets some do some dont. Most bird accidents happen like that.
I would also chck the dust dander from each bird. I have heard Greys are succeptible to lung problems when housed with other dusty birds.
