Ok firstly, yes you will need to get a Recreational wildlife keeping licence go to https://www.epa.qld.gov.au/rwl/faces/jsp/login.jsp (I think this is the right page, if not look around the website until you find it). This costs about $56. You will also need to purchase a record keeping book from them. I can’t remember how much this is I think it’s around $6. also depending on the type of Eclectus you buy, you may need to get an International Bird keeping licence also.

As for breeders there are plenty of eckys available in QLD!, I purchased my boy Ollie from a lady called Dail from Parrots in Paradise. She mostly breeds Alexandrines however she also breeds Eclectus parrots. I paid $600 for Ollie. You can contact her on (07) 54387719 or 0421339942. In my opinion one of the best breeders in QLD is North West Parrot Aviaries in Samford. They breed Eckys, conures, macaws, african greys, amazons you name it.
