i just bought an eclectus parrot but he has a bad habit of trying to eat out of my mouth. how do we stop this

Just tell it NO firmly and push it’s head away firmly.
Just stay with it and it should work.

I raise eclectus and I ensure this behaviour is not promoted in the first stages of life. I would guess that your ekkie had to have picked this bad habit up because someone thought it was cute or funny to allow him to do this so now you will have to gently train him to not obsess over getting his beak in your mouth. I am happy to hear you are addressing this issue now because our germs are foreign to a birds immune system so more people need to stop feeding their bird from their mouth (it’s is not good for them and it’s also gross). I would as others have mentioned in a stern and firm tone of voice say no and blow a hard short burst in his face, this does not hurt them but they usually do not like it,Training is about being consistant and repetative…I think he will figure it out soon enough, they are VERY smart.
