Quaker Parakeet or Eclectus Parrot for a somewhat beginner bird owner? I have owned a pair of cockatiels a few years ago and i want to either get a quaker parakeet or eclectus parrot. Which one of the two makes more noise, requires more attention, and bonds better. I am tied between getting a quaker, eclectus, lovebird, parrotlet, or green cheek conure. Which one is bet for me if i can give it only 3-4 hours outside of cage attention.I dont want a bird that is TOO loud but it is not very much of an issue. Please let me know of which bird is best for me, please suggest one of my options, not a budgie or cockatiel, i have had those before and would like something else. Thank you. Comments![]() |

these are my feelings. Most birds are noisy and need attention, and a huge cage to fly about in. Have you thought about fish? there is a huge amount of exotic fish-fresh and salt water?
quaker and eclectus are very loud and require alot of attention lovebird would be better for you mine is a sweetheart and they arent very loud
The Eclectus may be the best for you it is hard to say.It is the only one i would have in the names you pick accept the Quaker .They are a little quiter then the quaker.
Quaker would be great!! if you have allot of time on your hands, they are very playful and requires allot of your attention, i have one, but im a stay at home mom, and he is one of our kids, and acts like a toddler! that’s all i can say is read ,read ,read ,about, Quakers before you get one , i love mine to death and wouldn’t think it would be fair to buy one and only allow it 3 to 4 hours outside time!!!!! and they are very loud, that is why they are called Quakers! wouldn’t recommend one for apartment either, parrotlet would be better, good luck with your search.and read, read, read
