Most eclectus parrots I have seen are $ 700 upwards here in Australia, and you want a big cage for free as well as a bird costing less than a third of its value ? I think you are dreaming. Everyone knows the worth of these parrots. If you got one with cage for the cost of a cage only then I would hazzard a guess there would be a serious health issue with that bird.
I think you need to save more money or do more research, or wait a very long time.

I am planning on getting an eclectus parrot sometime in the future (probably not the near future, but I guess you can say I’m already planning it). Anyways, I want to get from a breeder (I find it harder and harder to trust pet stores, especially with larger birds), and I want to find a list of them. I found one website that has a large list of bird breeders, but the list doesn’t include eclectus.

Does anyone have any experience with SI Eclectus Parrots?

We are waiting for the arrival of our new baby girl…she is a SI Eclectus Parrot and we have never had one before…so we are not experts on them. We are bird people though. Any input would be appreciated.

My Female Eclectus parrot won’t stop screaming, can anyone please help me?

I own a 1 year old female Eclectus parrot. She has a screaming problem. I was told they were quiet birds. She has a roomy cage, I rotate her toys every 2 weeks, and I take her out every day. I don’t expect her to be quiet all the time because she is a parrot but she screams for no reason. Even when I cover her because she is screaming excessivly, she still screams with the cover on. She also doesn’t have certain times of the day when she screams, which I know some parrots do. She just screams for no reason, at any time of the day, and its ear scattering. The only time she is quiet is at night. When she starts screaming I cover her cage and then when she’s quiet, I’ll uncover her and she’ll start screaming again. I don’t know what else to do. She talks, is very tame, and sweet but I need to try and control her screaming. Could she be lonely for another bird? Anyone with any type of parrot experience please help me. I need some good advice. Thanks Alot.

Does anyone have a Eclectus Parrot?

I am an ad the other day for a Eclectus Parrot. I have always thought about a bird and I am in no way able to get one now, but I would like to get as much info as I can so if a time comes I would be able to get one I know everything I need to know. I know I want a parrot and not a large one. I have seen pictures of this bird and cant get over how much I like it. The ad says they arent as nosiey as other parrots…Is that true? And that they are in the top 5 birds for talking? I dont care about the talking part that much Im just wondering…

They need a rather large cage right?
Do they tend to be fearful of things going on around them?
Does anyone on here own one? And has it been hard for you to take care of them?
Is there something I should know about this bird that I may not find out from reading online or in a book?
Do they only come in green? (It wouldnt bother me, green in my fav color)
Does anyone have any pics of their bird?

This isnt the only bird Im looking into but I thought I would see what people had to say…

my new baby eclectus parrot is 9 wks old and is continuously making screaming noises.. would anyone know why?

i just purchesed a 9wk old eclectus parrot – she is beautiful and tame enough to pet and tcouh, but she makes these loud screaching/screaming noises every 5 mins all day! I am worried about if this is noramal of if i should be taking her to the vet or if she will just grow out of it? the breeder said that many eclectus parrots are noisy when they are babys and grow out of it? does anyone know if this is true?
