Is this a suitable diet for an eclectus parrot?

Question by Meleah: Is this a suitable diet for an eclectus parrot?
To all those bird lovers out there! Here is the diet i have my ekky on, do you think it is a suitable diet? What am i missing?
I put in diced mixed veges, which include carrot, zucchini, red chilli’s, red capsicums etc etc. It stays in there all day, as he likes to take his time eating. He is indoors, and the house stays cool. Of an evening i put in fresh diced fruit for two hours, throughout the day he has Eclectus pellets and dehydrated fruit. And as his training treat i’m going to start using sunflower seed. I use a calcium suppliement once a week in his water, and also a vitamin and mineral suppliement in his food once a week. I was doing this daily but have been told not to do that, as i am overdoing it with the added vitamins and minerals – as there are alot of it in his pellets.
Thanks birdsandbooks:)you’re great.
The man – That was very useful information Thank you.

Ok, so I may be getting an Eclectus Parrot. I’ve been researching parrots, and cages. I found this one :

That is a really nice cage for an Eclectus. I had a male a few years ago. You will love your bird and this cage may spoil you, but they do last a long time. You could actually go a little shorter and it would be easier to clean, no stooping. Enjoy!

Parrot Cages are 1 of the most important thing to take into consideration when you purchase your parrot. There are 2 reasons this is very very important, so this article will explain in persise detail why it is important and the size you need for the type of parrot you have,or about to purchase.
Parrot cages need to be the correct size for these reasons
Firstly a parrot that has space is a happy parrot that is why size is important, they tend to get depressed and cranky in a small cage.
Other reasons are!!!
Parrots to be able to spread their wings and move around.
Parrots have different size feet, so you need to be able to put different size perches in the 1 cage, we recomend 4 different types to excercise their feet.
Important things to remember are when purchasing parrot cages!!! http://parrot-training.us/2010/08/Parrot-Cages-Buying-Parrot-Cages-Has-Never-been-Easier-Every-Size-Cage-To-Suit-Every-Parrot/
The bigger you go the better it will be, aslong as spacing in between each bars is small enough to prevent injury in the event your parrot tries to escape. So make sure the birds head can not fit in between the bars.
The door must have anough space to fit your hand in comforably to not only catch him, but to put him back in his cage.

My Eclectus parrot seems to have weak feet. Is this normal?
Category: Eclectus Parrot Forum
When Matika (my 1 year old Eclectus parrot) tries to fly she always hurts her feet. After a day or two they come good again but they seem generally quite weak. She never seems to hold onto your fingers very tightly. I am wondering if it is normal in this breed of bird or whether it is a weakness she has?
