Eclectus Parrots meeting for the first time

This WONDERFUL video of a 5 month old female baby Solomon Island Eclectus was made at the first moment she was introduced to her new partner, a mature SI male. It is one of the best examples of how a mature male of this species is genetically programmed to be caretakers of babies in the flock from any hen. Males are green, females red & purple. Java is 4 years old and magnificent, a perfect example of the social qualities of Eclectus, and how supportive older males always are to youngsters in the flock. I am just thrilled to finally have a video example of how easy the pairing an older male with a younger female truly is, especially if both are wonderfully social. She was raised with a green male baby, so the first time she saw Java, she was comfortable with him. Finally I have a video example of how easily a baby female that is raised properly will bond with an older male. So much for the theory that Eclectus pets should be kept separated. It is interesting to note that on the day that this was filmed — the tv in the background has the news flash that the sniper who was shooting people in Washington, DC had just been captured. Eclectus Parrot as a first time bird?

I am very interested in elcectus parrots.I am sort of an exprericed bird owner. I used to own a pair of cockatiels and a parrotlet. I have also taken care of friends parrots before. It would be the only bird in the house, so how loud would it be, the noise is NOT a huge factor al long as it is not much louder than a sun conure.I have done tons of research and i would be able to give him at least 4 hours of out of cage attention or more each day.I also do have some experience with birds, please let me know if an eclectus is right for me.

Enough Time for an Eclectus Parrot?

I want to get an eclectus parrot, but im not sure how much attention they need. I am out of the house for apprxamatley 6-9 hours on weekdays (work, social activaties…) i dont work on weekends, would i still have enough time for an eclectus? Its a family bird, so my mom, dad, brother and sister would help me, although i am the primary caregiver for this bird. I will dedicate my spare time to this bird, Im just wondering with my scheduel, will i have enough spare time for my baby birdy???
