Is an eclectus parrot able to break bones when it wants to?

Question by Nebulæ: Is an eclectus parrot able to break bones when it wants to?
I am looking to buy a parrot for the first time, and and really like eclectus parrots. On the other hand, I’m also a mucisian and my fingers just can’t be endangered ( because my career depends on them :P ). Birds will sometimes bite and I’m okay with some pain, I just don’t want broken fingers. I know African Greys and Macaws can just as easily crack a finger as a nut. What about eclectusses?

yeah they can, but you would have to be truly unlucky for it to break a finger. i have had parrots for over 40years and apart from losing lots of blood and quite a bit of skin, they have never grabbed hard enough to break a bone.
give it plenty of other things to chew and break (fresh veg, sticks etc) and your fingers wont be tasty at all.
buy one, i guarantee you will not regret the decision and i promise wholeheartedly you will still have all 10 fingers in 50 years time. not to mention a wonderful companion.
