What Do You Feed Your Eclectus Parrot?

Or what do you think they should eat?
Also if possible, could you tell me if you ever had any problems with feeding that diet? Thank you. :)
I don’t have one myself, but am seriously looking into getting one. I plan on getting a male. :)

Mine ate the standard large parrot mixture, (available at any pet store) along with apples, oranges, fresh green beans, peppers, croutons, assorted fresh veggies and fruit.
I give mine medium parrot seed or when I can find it Eclectus seed. He loves that seed!!! It’s just hard to find all the time.. He gets a breakfast everyday, sometime fruit, cooked egg, toast he love pizza, noodles or rice. I just change the breakfast and he always has his seed. Oh he loves figs. I’m sure you know NEVER feed AVOCADO! My guy is great and 17 years old and very happy. Good luck with yours they are wonderful birds, enjoy!!!All the best;~)
I just read what you added. My guy is such an easy keeper he’ll eat most anything I give him. One thing I did that is very important, is I socialized him like crazy so anyone can handle him. I even am able to take him into hospitals as a therapy bird. If you did get one I’m sure you’ll love him to bits as I do mine!!!
Primarily fruits and fresh veggies then a good seed mix that includes many different seeds. Peanuts sparingly.
Do have have a beautiful female or the male?
You have to be concerned about the diet for Eclectus on account of the “longer digestive system” as compared to other parrots.
I would recommend a pellet diet made specially for Eclectus such as “Pretty Bird” species specific Eclectus. Do not feed as a normal parrot.
Please look into their diet and read the following book:
It’s a good idea to feed your parrot a variety of different foods, in small amounts rather than a large amount of one kind of food. Parrots can get bored with foods just as humans do. Give your parrot a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, grains and cooked meats in small portions. You may also share healthy food that you’re eating, in small bits if your parrot likes it. Don’t over feed your bird because that could make it ill.
